Sub Power How do I Know if an amp will power my sub?
So im getting an alpine type r 500 watt rms. Im going to get an amp with about the same rms power. how do i know if it will power it? will any amp either kicker, alpine or rockford) work? or are there amps made for just car speakers. i dont need an amp for those because the speakers i have are new and loud enough.
If your sub has a duel voice coil just run it in a parallel mode. If your amp is 2ohm stable you can run it in series. But your working your amp very hard. An amp that size should power it no problem, you can also bridge it for a little more juice.
